31 Week Update!!

I had a Doctor’s appointment on Monday that went great.  We got to see a sonogram of the boys and they are both looking healthy as ever!  And the CRAZY thing is that they are both head down!!  So that means that I have a very good chance of delivering naturally!  This whole time I had just assumed that I would have to have a C-section and now it’s looking like it could go the other way.  CRAZY!!!  The Doc also did her regular check of my cervix and said that is was still thick but getting soft.  She said that if I make it to the last week in February she will schedule an induction on March 3^rd!!  BUT… she also said that she doesn’t think I will make it till then.  She wants me to make it to 34 weeks and thinks I will, but she doesn’t think I will make it all the way to 37 weeks.   It is getting so close and I can’t believe it!  I feel like the luckiest girl in the world!!

Our First Shower!!!

Our first shower was this weekend and it was amazing!! Even though a big snow storm decided to come at the exact time of the shower some great family and friends where still able to make it out and we had a great time. The shower was hosted by two of Matt’s Aunts, one Great Aunt, and one of his Cousin’s. They did such a great job on all the food and decorations and everything was better than I could have ever dreamed it would be!

Some days I still can't believe I'm pregnant. Yes, it's getting harder to deny with my huge belly and swollen feet, but there are moments when I just can't fathom how very lucky I am. I had one of those moments during my baby shower this weekend...when I asked myself "is this really happening? How did I get so lucky?"

Rhett and Ryder are already spoiled!! In case you didn’t already know those are the official names. We are still deciding on middle names though! Our family and friends are so generous and gave us the loveliest gifts for our boys. I feel so blessed and so honored to have such amazing people in their lives!

I can’t seem to find the cord to my camera to download all the pictures but as soon as I do I promise to post them all! For now here is a picture that Matt took with his phone of the cutest cake in the world!!

Happy New Year!!

After one crazy year, 2010 certainly ended better than I could have ever expected! After waiting more than four years, and despite some really scary odds, I am finally pregnant. Some days I still can't even believe it. It's just too good to be true. I love my little guys so much it hurts and although I am very excited to meet them, I hope they wait about eight more weeks to make their appearance!


I hope you all had lovely holidays and for those of you still waiting for your babies, I think about you all the time and hope 2011 makes all your wishes come true.

Crib Talk

I just wanted to share what a great deal we got on our cribs!!  After much research and internet surfing we settled on the Graco Lauren crib.  It received great reviews for safety & durability!  It is sold at Babies R Us, Target and Wal-Mart, and of course Wal-Mart had the best deal!  I was able to get both the crib and mattress for the bargain price of $145!  Of course times that by 2 and add tax and it came to just around $300 for both!  If you compare that to Pottery Barn's Kendall Crib which looks almost exactly the same and sells for $500 for just the crib and we saved over $700

Nursery Design

Although we havn't even started on the nursery yet I thought I would post a sneek peek at the mood board that I came up with.  I keep changing my mind though so I can't be sure that it will come out like this, but for now this is what I am thinking.  We have ordered the cribs and they are in we just need to go pick them up!  That is a start right???

3D Sonogram

This Saturday we went to Window in the Womb in Southlake to get a 3D/4D sonogram of the boys!  We got a 30 min session  and it was so amazing to see them moving around and waving at us.  It turned out that baby A was sitting on baby B’s head which made it pretty much impossible to get a good shot of baby B!  So the pictures below are the best ones and they are all of baby A.  We had a full room of family that came along as well and I have a picture of all of us together but I will have to upload that later. 

24 WEEKS!!!

Hi. I'm still here. Sorry for the long silence, but I've been struggling with what to write about without sounding ungrateful or being hurtful to my blog friends still struggling to conceive. Things have been chugging along. I've gained 25 lbs now (eek) and my belly is measuring well ahead of my 24 weeks at almost 30 weeks! Both beans are super active, kicking, punching, swimming....whatever they're doing in there....and I love it. The other day I was in a meeting and the beans where kicking up a storm and I felt like my heart might explode. I sat there with six male engineers with the dreamiest grin on my face just so excited to feel my little guys.


I went to the doctor on Wednesday for a regular check-up with my OB's office. My Doctor had a delivery so I had a nice long 2 hour stay in the waiting room before getting to see her. Everything is good. Weight on track, BP low, etc. etc. She did the usual manual cervical check and pronounced my cervix "WONDERFUL". She also did a swab test that they use to see if there is any way that I could go into labor in the next two weeks. As long as it comes back negative, which it did, we are good to go for at least the next two weeks. So I go back in two more weeks for a sono and to do my 1 hour Gestational Diabetes Screening. My Doctor said because of my PCOS (the cysts that affect insulin) I have a very high chance of failing the first test :0( If I do fail I will have to repeat it all for a 3 hour test. So a few extra prayers for a “normal” test result would be greatly appreciated!
