Mmmmmmmmm pizza….
So at work I finally had to break down and tell my boss that Matt and I are trying to make a baby. The having to sneak out every other day to my appointments thing was getting to be a little hard. So now there are 2 people at work that know what’s been going on. I am wondering what the others are thinking??? If you read my other post you would know that I am so bloated that I have to wear dresses every day. So bloated, in fact, that I know there are people at work who literally think I am pregnant and are discussing it. I noticed one of the admin assistants eyeing my belly the other day! I believe chat goes something like this when I’m not around: "Man, Heather has really tanked up lately." "Yea, what a hoss." "Do you think maybe she's been eating to much pizza?" "Maybe, I heard she loves pizza. Maybe she's pregnant, too! I mean, she has been married for two years now – she's not getting any younger! Tick tock!"

Well "My Friends" there is no bun in the oven this month. The nurse called around 1:30 yesterday and let me know that the blood test came back negetive. The due date would have been in July and I guess God knows how hot is in Texas in July and he decided that it would not be a good idea to have me barefoot and pregent in 103 degree heat. So now what?? Well the doctor suggested that we go ahead and go to IFV which is the $7000 procedure, but he did say that we could do one more IUI (an IUI runs around $600). Matt and I haven't decided yet weather we are going to do one more IUI or just start saving for the IVF. If we do go ahead with another IUI this month and everything works out then it would be an Auguest baby and my Dad's birthday is in Auguest. So that makes me think that we should just go for one more try! I will keep posted!

Willpower - Yes I am the strongest women alive!
Normally I turn in to a crazy OCD pregnancy test taker around this time of the month. Like the girl in the picture above, you can find me at the local Dollar Tree with an entire basket full of Pregnancy test. I would take two to three tests a day; I told you I was crazy!!! Well this month I have not taken even one, nada, zilch, zero! I am so proud of myself! Tomorrow is the BIG day - the official test day. I have an 8:00 appointment with the doctor for blood work, then they will call with the results sometime after 4:00. It’s going to be a long day…Wednesday, October 22, 2008
That was quick!!
Today was or IUI and everything went really well and fast. I have a really good feeling about this month for three reasons…
1. All the many prayers that everyone has been saying for us – thank you all!!
2. Miss Ladybug – Yesterday when I left work I noticed a ladybug that landed on my windshield. Well I believe that ladybugs bring good luck and this little lady hung on to my windshield wiper the whole 1 hr drive home! That has to mean something right?
3. Gas station guy – This morning when I stopped to get gas on the way to work the gas station guy said through the little speaker on my pump “Good morning and have a blessed day” How crazy is that?
Yes maybe I am a little crazy and a lot superstitious but what the heck!
Right now I am feeling like that girl violet from Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory who ate the “special gum” and blew up like a blueberry! This makes it very hard to decide what to ware in the mornings which brings me to the topic of my Fertility Treatment Pants. I have the So-Bloated-I-Can't-Bend-Over-Pants. Then the quite rotund, need to be rolled down hallways pants. Now pants are out of the question and all I can fit in to are large oversized dresses in the hopes that no one can see that somehow over night I began to look 8 months pregnant! All I can say is thank the lord for empire waists!! Now if only I had my very own umpa lumpas to roll me around all day…

A few good eggs!
Good news, at our Doctor’s appointment on Sunday we found out that we have two good sized eggs! Which the doc said is absolutely the perfect amount! (More then two ups your chances for multiples which also ups your chances for miscarriages) So Wednesday at 1:00 we will have the IUI done. Then the dreaded two week wait which I have already advised Matt that he needs to go to all drugstores to hang a copy of my picture and a note "Do not sell HPTs to this woman" next to the cash register. I am a little impatient and out of control with the testing! I can’t help it…Also congrats to Kelly and Glen! We found out on Sunday that they are also expecting a little one! So I think that makes it officially “my turn” now – Right!!! I think so but I also know that God has total control and he knows what is best for us! I just really need him to help me out with the patients thing!

Is it my turn? How bout now? What about now?
Well so far this month I have found out that 2 of my girlfriends are newly pregnant. Congrats to Lori and Lindsay!!! I am very happy for them but of course I do find myself wishing it where me! I do try to keep positive by thinking that it’s a great thing they are pregnant before me because that means lots of great hand-me-downs!
We are back on the baby making train this month! It was a nice three months off not having to think about Dr’s visits or shots or tests and the list goes on… But wholly cow!!! This month has beaten me down. The meds have made me sicker then a dog, every day it takes everything in me to be able to get out of bed and go to work then I have to make myself stay there. I have had doctor’s visits every three days for sonograms and blood work so right now my arms look like I am a druggy which I am sure is what all my coworkers think since I have been feeling so bad lately and not my usual “cheerful” self. My most recent visit was yesterday and nurse informed me that nothing is looking good right now and my stubborn eggs are still to tiny to proceed with the IUI which is what we where hopping would be happening today. So I had to buy more meds and up my dosage of shots and we have an appointment on Sunday. We are going to a new doctor that is in Fort Worth so it has helped out on gas $$$ since it is very close to work.
Here is the breakdown of this months schedule so far:
October 6th – Started!!!
October 7th – 1st Dr’s appointment (sonogram to check for cysts, there was a small one so they did blood work to make sure that it was ok proceed with meds)
October 8th – Started meds
(Daily meds = Estradiol Valerate 2 times daily- used to prime, or thicken the uterine lining
Follistim Shot - 1 time daily helps to develop eggs in the ovaries
Prednisone - 1 time daily steroid
metformin 2 times daily - an oral diabetes medicine that helps control blood sugar levels
Prenate DHA – Prenatal vitamins)
October 13th 2nd Dr’s appointment (sonogram to check for egg growth – big fat nothing! Bloodwork)
October 16th 3rd Dr’s appointment (sonogram to check for egg growth – big fat nothing! Bloodwork)
Nurse called and said to up my dose of the Follistim shot from 75 to 125 in hopes that will kick my eggs into growing gear.
Next appointment Sunday morning October 19th to see if the increase of meds is working! Keep your fingers crossed for us!
